Chapter 1: the Origin
A long time ago, humans decided to settle and build a village in a beautiful place in the mountains, away from the war and cruelty of the kingdom below. But this place was as dangerous as it was beautiful, thick forests inhabited by dangerous creatures, steep cliffs and sharp edges on the side of the mountain. The soil was hard to build and grow food on.
They were desperate, they had no where else to go.That’s when 4 of the spirits inhabiting the forest took pity on them.
Four of the mountain spirits, the protectors, took care of the humans and only asked for one thing in return: that they don’t go hunt or destroy anything in a certain part of the forest. The place was a safe heaven for animals and weak spirits, a beautiful and dense part of the forest, with flowers and fruits that grew all year round.
The villagers named them according to their appearance when they took physical form. To them they all looked like wolves.
The smallest was the golden wolf. His fur shone bright in the sunlight as if it was made of gold and his eyes clear light blue like the sky on a sunny day, this wolf spirit was the one that made sure the crops always grew, that the fruits grew bigger and more delicious even in the harshest conditions. It loved music and the colorful festival the villagers held each season.
The red wolf, as the villagers called it, took care of the ill and wounded, healing them. Its fur was blood red with a pair of playful pale blue eyes. This wolf was always up to no good, playing innocent pranks on the villagers near the the forest.
The shadow wolf was the largest, he manifested mostly at night. With its black fur, at night only it’s green eyes glowed in the darkness. It was the least friendly among all spirits in the forest and sometimes found the humans stupid and weak. It was the one to keep the humans safe from all creatures that lurked in the forest at night, and there were some that wanted to tear them to shreds. He kept them safe from the Rouks, the shadow creatures, his own creations.
The last wolf spirit, was a thin thing, long wispy white fur that floated around him, sometimes the fur seemed light blue, the humans called him the light wolf. Its eyes were of different colors, ever changing and on his forehead he had three gem like orbs. It was a stunning creature yet there was something eerie about it. This spirit kept things peaceful and took care of the flowers. He managed to keep the soldiers away from the village during war, and somehow had a calming effect over murderers and thieves that passed through the village. It also had a calming effect on the other spirits, the golden wolf took pleasure in seeing others obey his every twisted wish, the red wolf had a taste for blood and the shadow wolf was the cruelest of the all, but due to this eerie creatures the villagers were spared of all their dark desires.
They lived happily for centuries, but the villagers became greedy. What they had was not enough for them, they wanted the spirit’s safe heaven. They wanted the thick trees, the beautiful flowers and fruits that grew all year round, ignoring all laws of the mortal world. They wanted peace, but on their terms.
When they started destroying the safe heaven, the wolves fought back.
That was enough for the villagers to call them evil. After years they forgot that everything they had was because of the wolf spirits.
The village shaman came up with a plan on how to get rid of the “evil creatures”. He tricked them and trapped them in the body of 4 pregnant women. The women were sent to live higher on the mountain in a small house with the reminder that the children won't be born completely normal and that there was another trick to the trap.
The women gave birth to four little boys.
The first to be born was cute and small with golden locks and blue eyes, he was named Kaya, the second a pale baby boy with red hair and light blue eyes, he was named Sili and was loved dearly by his mother. The third baby boy was born with black hair and a pair of hypnotizing green eyes, his skin color was darker than the other boys', he was named Ragnar.
The last baby boy was born a few months after. The last woman, had been praying to have a normal child, not born with bright colored hair or eyes like the others, she wanted it to be normal, but her son was the least normal. The baby boy was ghostly pale, his hair was white, looked light blue in the dark, one eye was purple and the other orange, but what was shocking about him were the eye like gems on his forehead and there were also the cut like scars under his eye and separating his lower lip. She named him Frey, but wasn’t as caring as the others were towards their sons.
They lived pretty happily in the small house. It was too small for eight people, but they managed.
The villagers were having a difficult time after the four wolf spirits were captured, crops were failing, greed took over, the war was coming closer.
Kaya and Sili , went into the village with their mothers from time to time, to buy food and clothes. They were always cheerful and the villagers started to take a liking to the two cote blue eyed boys
Frey and Ragnar preferred to play around the house, in the woods. They found the spirit's safe heaven on their own. It felt like home despite them not remembering their former lives.
The year the boys turned 7 years old, Frey's mother decided to leave. She packed all her things while her son begged her not to leave. While heading out the door with the boy following after her she remember what the shaman told her when the spirit was trapped in her pregnant body. She turned to the pale boy and said: "I command you, wolf spirit, to not leave this house for as long as it's walls shall stand!". Frey tried to resist, but it was like an invisible force pulled his crying, trembling small body into the house.

The next days he tried to leave the house, but he couldn't. The door was wide open to all but him. But he has his three friends to cheer him up, and although they did not understand why he didn't leave the house anymore, they did their best to cheer him up.
